Here at Central Monmouth Animal Hospital, we are proud to offer gastroenterology services for our patients.
Gastroenterology is the study of the gastrointestinal tract. This includes the stomach, intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and much more.
The most common symptoms that we see are vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, loss of appetite, and poor body condition. Many times these symptoms are not specific and could indicate any number of problems, but we are dedicated to getting to the bottom of your pet’s condition so that he or she will feel much better quickly.
We are proud to offer the highest quality diagnostic tools so that we can determine what is wrong with your pet. We can run blood work in our hospital to rule out many diseases. We also take X-rays and ultrasounds to look even closer.
Some of the most commonly diagnosed problems that we see are pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, bloat, and much more. We also see many patients that have eaten things that they shouldn’t have, which can cause a simple upset stomach or require surgery to remove the object..
Once we have determined what is wrong with your pet, we have the medications and treatments to help your pet feel better quickly. We can hospitalize your pet if fluids are needed. We can also give medications by injection when your pet can’t hold anything down.
